One morning while cuddling my tabby cat,(apparently my equivalent to contemplating my navel), I recognized that wild turkey feathers, pheasant feathers, owl feathers all had the exact patterns of tabby cats. And so it began. Cats of a Feather: You Are What You Eat was born.
A great deal of experimentation has gone into methods of cleaning, carving and adhering the feathers, and many great friends are now enlisted to help keep up my feather supply. In the native way each bird signifies specific teachings and lessons, so many of the feather cats have layers and layers of meaning for me.
